Transportation Services
Getting to School
In school districts outside of New York City, transportation must be provided for eligible private school students who meet distance criteria:

Eligibility:
- Grades K–8: Students living more than 2 miles from their school of attendance are eligible.
- Grades 9–12: Students living more than 3 miles from their school are eligible.
- Transportation is required up to 15 miles measured along the nearest available public route between home and school.

Request Deadline:
- Submit a written request to your public school district by April 11 annually
- New Residents: May file late if moved into district after April 1 (within days used)
- Contact your district early to confirm altsuves (typo: probably all issues) with your district early

Special Education Services
Getting to School
Private school students with disabilities can receive services from their public district.

Evaluation:
- Request evaluation from your district’s Committee on Special Education (CSE)

Service Plan:
- If eligible, Individualized Education Services (IEP/ProgP) is developed
- Services like therapy, counseling, or academic support are provided

Parental Role:
- Maintain open communication, laws, and regulations on students with disabilities
