Asalamualikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barkatuh my dear brothers and sisters,

I hope this finds you in the best of health and imaan!

Today our third graders ended strong for doing an amazing job during the t-shirt contest.

Earlier this week, the students and I worked together to tie-dye our shirts for today. Alhumdullilah they came out beautiful!

The students were well-behaved and supportive to the rest of the school for doing such an awesome job mashallah. I am SO proud of them.

Here was our slogan that the class came up with together:

Alhumdullilah the month of September was eventful as we started the year with some great events! We took part in the first school event for the year - Hajj Reenactment Day! Although it was a short presentation, students worked hard to understand and study their short script.

In addition, we dived right into our academics as soon as the second week of school arrived! The students have been working diligently over the course of a few weeks to solidify their understanding their multiplication and division skills. Although it is a difficult chapter, our students have continuously shown great effort. Inshallah, we will take our first unit test, on October 13th, inshallah!

Alhumdullilah, we just finished taking our first Social Studies test! We spent time learning about our communities. Students gained a strong understanding of what a community is and the different types of map that exist. Students also gained an insight into Urban, Rural, and Suburban communities! They enjoyed learning about their own - the Hamza Academy community!

Literacy - we have been working on finding the main idea in a text and we just finished writing an structured opinion paragraph. They did such an amazing job providing supporting details - I decided to hang their work on the bulletin board! Inshallah, we plan to write and read A LOT more this year! By the time the state tests arrive, we will be ready to tackle it! Newsela is a part of this ;)

During this entire month, we also learned about the significance of giving during character council! Alhumdullilah our sadaqa jar is accumulating slowly but surely. Again, we have no limits! Our goal is to gather as much as we can. Jazakallah for your continued support and involvement. Students have been so generous because of you all. May Allah bless us with the opportunity to help others. Always. Ameen!

Parental Testimony
"Literary is an imperative ingredient to one's success. This is why the commitment to reading by the teachers and kindergarten team must be acknowledged. The team's devotion to reading is undeniable and in my opinion a substantial foundation for development of our little jewels. In the 8 months that my son sat in kindergarten class he has grown from a love of listening to stories and word recognition to reading entire books to his family.
Thank you KG team, kudos on the dedication you have demonstrated in molding our little readers into great future leaders."
